Christmas around our Home 2024
Sharing my Christmas decor is one of my favorite things to blog about! Last year we had barely moved in so we only put up our tree and called it good, so it feels like the first time decorating in this house now that the main floor is renovated.
Most of my decor is just reused from year to year but as I hone in more on what I like I will a couple of items each year. I got my dream tree a couple of years ago and from there I realized I really love colorful nostalgic Christmas decor and so I just recreate the same setup each year. It’s so fun to bring out all the fun and quirky ornaments we have each year.
This house is much bigger than our last so we don’t really have anything outside, so let's start with the front entry.
FRONT ENTRY
I’ve had this wreath for years but wanted to add more color to it so I added some ribbons I made from scrap fabric. In the pot beside I covered the dead flowers with some pine clippings from the yard and a few extra ornaments.
I also added some of the fabric ribbon to the garland on the stairs.
THE LIVING ROOM
In here we moved the house plants around for the tree and then decorated it the same as usual. I did add tinsel this year though and I love the shimmer it adds. Then I added an extra layer of cozy by adding in a few more pillows and blankets.
On the other side of the room I displayed one of our nativities and our collection of houses that are mostly from the dollar store but I added my own touch to them.
DINING ROOM
The dining room is still pretty empty but I set up the table how we would if we were hosting.
THE KITCHEN
This room was made for Christmas so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add a little cheer. I’d love to have garlands on all the window and door casings someday but this time I just added one of the garlands I had and then some fresh cedar boughs and ribbon.
THE PLAYROOM
This room is still a work in-progress design-wise but my kids refuse to let me put the stockings anywhere but the fireplace mantel so I added a few fun details here too.
Had to have a little stocking for my daughter’s hamster “Pumpkin”.
And that’s the tour! I wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you feel the love this season!
