Creating the Perfect Living Room With Sofa Land!

Living room reveal phase one is complete. I decided to break the space up into phases because it is a very large space and I wanted to do my best to get each section of it just right for our needs.

I’ve shared several previous projects with Sofa Land where I was able to work with them to create design displays at the Edmonton home show and the furniture quality always thoroughly impressed me. When it comes to purchasing furniture for your home experts recommend investing more in the pieces that you use and touch the most - specifically your sofa, bed, and dining furniture.

I knew I wanted to invest in a quality sofa so this makeover started with a trip to Sofa Land to find the perfect sofa for our family to rest and relax on. The selection of stylish furniture they carry was exactly what I needed. They have sofas in every style and color your heart could desire and you can get most options customized in hundreds of different upholstery options. They checked all my boxes of a furniture store that was affordable, on-trend with styles and the fact that I was supporting local Alberta business was the cherry on top.

A little background about Sofa Land, they have been family owned and operated since 1992 and they now have 5 locations in Alberta, with more on the way. Their team spends extensive time researching and visiting new furniture vendors to find the best options available on the market. The shopping experience was so easyand enjoyable. The sales staff were friendly and knowledgeable about all the options available and never pressured us to make any quick decisions.

Don’t let the name Sofa Land fool you either, it’s much more than that, they carry EVERYTHING you could want or need for your living room. All the items in the showroom are for sale and the displays give you the guidance to know how the furniture could look in your home. It’s like having a designer plan it all for you.

I was searching for a modern sofa with clean lines to complement the mid-century architecture in our living room and once I sat down on the Adonis Sofa I knew it was the one. It was beautiful AND so comfy.

Here she is in the finished space. Although I do hesitate to call it “finished”. In my experience, living rooms are ever evolving as our needs for our family change and as style grows so we’ll call this the phase one makeover. The good news is though with a timeless sofa like this one I know that it can grow with us through the years. It looks great on its own or full of pillows, so no matter how I’m feeling design-wise it will hold up.

I wanted to keep this space quite neutral because it is a busy room where we do a lot as a family and it is open to other rooms but I love the small pops of color that peek in from the entry and kitchen. I will be adding a large gallery wall of art, blinds for the windows, and have considered wood planks for the ceiling and so much more,  but having this base layer put together has been the perfect starting point for this room.

If you’re in the market for a new sofa, sectional, or chair I highly recommend Sofa Land. The furniture is quality made and the styles are sourced and curated by designers to provide exactly what you’re looking for.

Xx, Suzanne
