Moodboard and plans for a Budget Bathroom Makeover + The Best Floral Curtains!
I was feeling major cabin fever last month so I decided to paint our main bathroom with some leftover paint I had on hand for a little refresh. I'd love to gut it, but that's not in the budget right now, So a quick DIY upgrade will have to do.I had a gallon leftover from painting our guestroom a few years ago. I love the color of it but since the guestroom is in the basement I don't usually go down there except to clean it for the occasional guest to stay in. So I decided I needed some of that same color on the main floor of our home. It is "Oakmoss" by Sherwin-Williams and it is the prettiest warm-toned olive green!I didn't have a solid plan at first, just that I wanted the bathroom green. Once I sat down to make a mood board it all came together. I have florals in almost every room of the house so I decided to add some to the art I hung in the bathroom and then continue that with a bold floral curtain for the shower. The tub is sunken and weird so I decided to use window curtains instead of shower curtains so they would be longer and give a dramatic look. ( I spent a few hours scouring the internet for the best floral curtains and I've linked them below!)The vanity was previously painted blue and I'm thinking of painting it a fun purple like the dresser in my daughter's room (more leftover paint to keep this super budget-friendly). The vanity also has an odd space for a vanity stool but we use it to hold our laundry basket so I wanted to make or buy a little cafe curtain to go over that part. I'll finish it all off with some accents of gold in the frames and hooks. Here's a before photo. Yes, it is fine, but I'm just bored of it and I had the paint on hand so I figured why not. Here's my mood board plan.
