Guest Room Moodboard and Potential Art Choices (Help me Decide!)

I’ve been meaning to blog about the direction for the guest room for a while now but I just didn’t have all the details right yet.  So I decided to just go forward with the paint color which I was 100% in love with and then make further decisions from there, and it worked! Having the paint on the wall helped solidify the choices of the rest of the decor for me.  The color is Oakmoss by Sherwin-Williams.  It’s the perfect, warm-toned Olive green.  I painted everything the same color, including the baseboards and doors to give it a dramatic, traditional look.

The style direction or this room is Modern Traditional with a bit of an “ode to England”.  The green walls will be contrast woth lots of soft nuetral tones and textures.

I drew initial inspiration from the time I spent in England and got my pallet from the color tones in the English countryside. The country is filled with GREEN! So much green! – From rolling hills to moss-covered trees and rock walls.  The greens are very warm toned with a bit of yellow to them and the stonework is all warm grey and white tones.  Ahhh it is just the prettiest place in the world! I could go on and on about the beauty of England for days, I spent 18 months there serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints several years ago and it holds such a dear place in my heart!

But without further ado here is my mood board.

I want there to be a mix of patterns and textures but at the same time give the feel of a boutique hotel that you could find in London.  With the paint color darker the other furnishings and textiles will be lighter to create visual balance.  I will be making a headboard with a beautiful floral pattern and it will be paired with some crisp white bedding.

I also want to make a gallery wall on the wall opposite of the bed with some of my own art and some art from Juniper print shop that I have loved for a while. I have several that I’m trying to decide from so I could use your help to choose! I want a mix of modern and vintage art, let me know which ones are your favorite!
