ORC Spring 2020 – Week 4 – Exterior Paint Plans

Week 4! Time is flying and I’m starting to feel like I bit off more than I can chew…But I love a good deadline so despite the nervous jitters I’m confident we’ll make it all happen.  The majority of the work will be complete this Saturday so that will take a lot of pressure off.

This week I worked on a few small projects again.  I painted our back door green to match our front door.  It is a custom color I made from a bunch of paint I had on hand but it is a perfect match to Valspar ‘Deep Green Sea’.  I also spray painted the door hardware gold.  Eventually, we would like to replace this door as it doesn’t hang properly but a little paint will work for now.

Another paint-related detail I finalized this week was our exterior paint colors.  We will be painting the body of the house a bright white and the trim will be a dark grey/black.  We have some brick on our front exterior that I’m thinking of either limewashing or painting all white as well.

Here is what our Exterior currently looks like.  It’s a little rough, but with some paint, she will be sooo pretty!  I’m so excited! Being able to update our home makes me feel like I’m helping it reach its full potential.

I’ve been dreaming of painting the exterior since we moved in and I couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to partner with Valspar Paint on this! With the extreme weather that Canada gets I feel confident in these Valspar products.  The body of the house will be Valspar ‘Ultra White’ and the trim will be Valspar ‘Dark Kettle Black’.  Here is my exterior mood board so you can see the modern rustic vibe I am going for.

I’m excited for some huge progress to happen this Saturday.  My paint sprayer came in the mail and my paint order is in, so I can start painting soon! I’ll bring you all along in my Instagram stories.
