DESIGN,  ROOM REVEALS

1 Color – Two ways makeover at the 2023 Edmonton Home and Garden Show.

I got the opportunity to collaborate with the Edmonton Home and Graden show again this year and it was such a delight! They asked me to design two spaces using the Cloverdale color of the year. Their color of the year is a beautiful muted maroon called ‘Prosperity’.

I was able to partner with Sofaland to furnish the space and it was so fun to see it all come together. In case you missed the home show here are the photo highlights. And if you want to get some incredible furniture for your home I’ve linked it below.

I created one space that was fully enveloped in the color ‘Prosperity’ and styled it in a way that looked like a cozy games room where friends could relax, talk and enjoy a fun evening. In the background, I added a couple of bookcases and styled them to look like a well-curated home, then added a bar tray and a colorful rug that brought out the pink from the walls.

I used 4 of Sofaland’s Pryia Swivel chairs, the Circularity coffee table, 2 of the Galtbury bookcases, and one of their bar carts. The rug and all the other accessories and lights were from Sofaland as well. They have so much more in-store than online so go in and see! Their rug selection I was especially excited about – so many brand name options at great prices.

On the other side, I showcased the color in a different way by using it as the accent color against a serene backdrop. The color on the walls is called ‘Calm Interlude’ by Cloverdale Paints. I wanted to show how you can use this color in several ways. It’s such a versatile and beautiful shade of pink whether you use it in a whole room or just as a pop of color in textiles!

I started the design for this side with 2 of the Torin chairs and paired it with the Giorgia Sofa. I finished it off with the Lyon end table, the Coreene coffee table, and the Alice rug from Loloi – also available at Sofaland. Again the art and plants were from Sofalnad, the rattan wall hangings were from IKEA and the chandelier was from Park Lighting.

This way such a fun event to be a part of! There are always so many amazing creators and businesses showcasing their best, if you didn’t get a chance to attend this one I highly recommend you come to the next one!

My favorite part of putting together this display was being able to show my kids ‘what Mommy does for work’. They just see me sitting at my computer a lot and so it was so fun to show them some designs coming to life. I love this candid my husband snapped after we finished styling it. They were especially fond of the swivel chairs – I may need to get some for our family room!
