DESIGN,  ROOM REVEALS

Making over my Parent’s Guestroom with Valspar paint!

I’ve been wanting to give my parent’s guest room a makeover for a while now, and when I saw some of the colors Valspar had shared as their colors of the year I knew at least one of them would be perfect in their house. My mom looooves blues and the color ‘Blue Arrow’ by Valspar seemed like the perfect fit. It’s a beautiful muted grey-blue.

I love Valspar paint! The quality is incredible. The Valspar Signature line is my favorite as it has such incredible coverage. You can honestly just do one coat and no one would be able to tell – it’s that good!

The guestroom at my parents has been a place for my brother’s storage for a while so it was looking really bad and needed some love. I rounded up my supplies and spent the day painting and it looks so much better now! Here is the before.

And the After – a fresh coat of paint and new bedding! The magic of paint never ceases to amaze me!

I thought about adding more art to the walls but I kind of liked the simplicity of the one mirror, which gave it a bit of a hotel feel which is exactly what you want your guests to have.

The mirror was from my thrift collection, here is a similar one. The headboard was FREE on Facebook and it just shines against the blue wall now. (I haven’t found anything with pleating like this one but if you want a similar look this one is gorgeous. )

I kept pretty much everything else as it was and just styled it a bit differently, but honestly, the paint is the star of the show!

Here are some side-by-sides of the before and after. The beige walls were doing nothing for this room before. Paint can do incredible things!

I hope you feel inspired to go paint some walls! Head to Lowe’s or Rona and get yourself some Valspar paint and you will not be disappointed!

And if you need help choosing the right shade I am here to help. 🙂

Happy Painting!
