DIY Pulled String Art
Well, it’s week 3 of the Covid-19 Quarantine for us. We’ve tried to keep up with a little homeschool but to be honest my kids are not interested. They do enjoy doing crafts and art projects so that’s going to be our main class for the next little while.
Today I am sharing a project I did with them over the weekend. Be prepared to get a little messy and have fun! For this project, you will need art paper, yarn or string, containers to hold your paint, and some paint.
Start by dipping the string in your choice of paint. Swirl it around to completely cover the string in the paint.
Next, lightly arrange your string on your art paper, and be sure to leave a small piece of string hanging off of the paper.
Fold the paper in half and press down firmly.
Keep a firm hold on the paper (or have someone else hold it down) while you pull the string out from in between.
Then lift up the top paper to see your creation.
I tried several yarn thicknesses and arrangements and had fun creating a few more.
We have a family art gallery in our playroom and I think I will add one of them there.
I love the beautiful organic shapes that these created and I hope it inspires you to try it!
