Upgrade your Painting game with a Graco Handheld Sprayer!

My fence has been keeping a secret…only half of it was painted 3 years ago when we built our deck. I ran out of steam back when we did the One Room Challenge and built our deck/painted the whole exterior of our house. (If you check out the reveal you might know why)

Last year I tried to finish the painting of it but only got about a 6-foot section finished before the carpal tunnel syndrome in my arms flared up and I lost steam again. Luckily GRACO came in to save the summer for me this year! I’ve had a paint sprayer on my list of DIY tools to get for a while now so I was thrilled to try out their Cordless Airless Handheld Sprayer.

*Full Disclosure – This post was sponsored by GRACO, but all opinions are my own. And I only promote products I fully believe in.*

I had 3 large sections of my fence left. Here’s a before of all the grimy old wood and spider webs.

Step 1 was power washing all the said spider webs into oblivion. This also helped loosen any old chipping paint.

Once it was dry we were ready for the paint sprayer.

The sprayer comes with an in-depth user manual and this laminated sheet of instructions for set-up that have pictures with each step. The laminated instructions were really all you need. It was so easy to set up and only took a few mins to get ready to paint. The battery option also made it so effortless to carry around and move without any cords getting tangled or unplugged.

The sprayer is lightweight and easy to hold. (I know my awkward stance in the picture below says otherwise, but trust me it’s just like holding your average drill.)

Look at that fresh paint soaking into the wood. Beauty! The handheld nail gun has been my favorite DIY tool for a while but this Sprayer definitely just bumped it out of first place!

The 6-foot sections that were previously taking me 1.5 hours each with a brush and roller only took 3.5 MINUTES with the sprayer! I knew that it would obviously be faster but, wow my mind was blown by the speed and precision! PLUS – no more sore arms from hours of brushing and rolling!

If you do small paint projects often or have a fence to paint like I did this paint sprayer will save you soooo much time and effort! It is a bit of a splurge tool but believe me when I say it is WORTH IT! This is the sprayer I have, but there is also a corded version for much less that has the same power and painting ability.

The clean-up was straightforward and simple too. You follow the instructions on the laminated sheet and run the machine through with a couple of rounds of water spraying out the leftover paint, and then the tip and cup come off and you just wash with warm water like you would any paintbrush. Two thumbs up.

Look at that shiny new paint job! The best part by far was all the time it saved me. Instead of this being an all-day project that gives you a tired sore body, it was just a quick afternoon project and I still had time AND energy to spare.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a paint sprayer to your DIY tool belt take this as a sign to do it! Happy Painting!
