2021 Christmas Home Tour
Buckle up! This is a juicy post because I loooovvve CHRISTMAS! I love the opportunity to be more intentional in expressing love for my family and celebrating the birth of my Saviour and I get so much joy from decorating the house up for the season.
This year I added some holiday cheer to the bedrooms and I think I will continue this tradition because it just adds such a fun touch to our upstairs level!
Let’s start with my little girl’s shared room. I got them their own tree to decorate and added some paper star garland to their artwork. This room is already the cheeriest room in the house but adding a tiny purple Christmas tree just took it over the top!
Onto the Primary bedroom. I added some tree clippings in a vase that smell so fresh and piney and tossed a Christmas pillow on the bed. Easy Peasy but still feels Holly Jolly! 🙂 Here is a similar Tartan Pillow.
Next up, my oldest daughter’s rainbow room. The pink tree was the perfect touch to an already fun and colorful room. I wrapped some gold ribbon on her bedframe too for some extra sparkle.
The girl’s trees are mostly filled with homemade ornaments and a few sentimental ornaments from their grandparents.
And now for the grand finale! – The main living space.
I got a new tree this year that I am in love with! The flocking is perfect and it doesn’t fall off and make a mess like other cheap flocked trees. For Walmart, I’m very impressed with this tree. Like I shared in my earlier mood board I went colorful and eclectic with the ornaments. I added some holiday artwork to the picture ledge and decorated the mantle to coordinate. This is definitely the most “ME” Christmas decor I have done, it’s a bit classic and traditional but with a touch of colorful whimsy. 🙂 I will probably just repeat this every year now because I seriously love it that much!
The Nativity is one of my kids’ favorite decorations. My Mom made it and I love that it is fabric so they can’t wreck it. She found this set at Fabricland years ago but I linked a couple of cute Nativity sets below that are kid-safe.

I rotated some of the art and added in a few pieces of art from my husband’s late Aunt Lilian. We have several of her original pieces and I am working to put them all in digital form on Etsy so that you can buy a digital download of any of them. She was an incredible artist and it would make me so happy to have others enjoy her artwork. I added the ones I used here to my Etsy shop and will be adding her whole collection soon.
The mantle was a bit of an experiment this year. I used my regular thin faux garland and then cut some branches from the yard and tucked in pine and cedar boughs. Then I added some colorful ornaments and wooden garland to match the tree. After that, it still felt a bit too contrasty to the tree so I used some white paint and dabbed it on the branches to mimic the flocked look of the tree. It turned out so cool! I finished it off with some of our Nutcracker decorations and candles. It’s a little classic and a little bit eclectic, I’m in love with it!
Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings to all of you! Thank you for being here and supporting my blog! I hope the joy of the season touches your heart this year and brings peace and love into your home.
